Meditation and Guided Somatic Exploration

  • Golden Wattle Sangha 189 Underwood Street Paddington, NSW, 2021 Australia (map)

Awakening is the process of realising our interconnected nature. This realisation is experiential—it doesn’t lie in concepts, thoughts, the future, or some other place. Rather, it happens through this very body and mind of ours—through our own flesh, feelings, and mind states.

The Buddha-Dharma offers pathways for developing this understanding through embodied meditation and inquiry. However, we live in a culture that often disconnects us from the body due to stress, drivenness, and trauma. This perpetual disembodiment can make it difficult to cultivate awareness.

Somatic practices help us reconnect with the body by developing interoception—our ability to sense ourselves from the inside out. By reawakening this innate capacity, we reclaim our ability for embodied awareness and gradually gain insight into the interconnected nature of reality. This deepened awareness not only supports meditation practice but also brings more ease, presence, and clarity into our daily lives.

Join us for a sit followed by somatic exploration. I look forward to practicing together.
