Meditation and Dharma Talk

  • Bluegum Sangha 6 Napier Street North Sydney, NSW, 2060 Australia (map)

The spiritual path asks us to be radically open and to meet life with courage and honesty. In this talk, I explore what it means to be truly open to our experience, both within and around us. This kind of openness is radical because it’s unconditional: it has no preferences, it doesn’t grasp or push away. Instead, it asks us to soften around what arises, to let go of control, and to meet life with intimacy, clarity and acceptance.

As we open in this way, we begin to see more clearly the roots of our suffering—not in what happens, but in how we relate to it. When we no longer turn away from our experience, even the difficult parts, a sense of inner stability and ground begin to emerge. From that grounded presence, our responses become wiser, more compassionate, and more aligned with what truly matters. Radical openness is a prerequisite for walking the path with dicesrnment, wisdom and compassion.
